BARISTA & GENERAL CATERING ASSISTANT
The Role
We are looking to appoint a friendly and enthusiastic Barista to work in our brand new Sixth Form cafe. Our cafe is the hub of student life at our Sixth Form and as a Barista, you'll be the heart of our cafe service, crafting delicious drinks and engaging with customers to create a welcoming experience.
This is a full time position, working Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:00pm. term time plus 10 days. Starting date 24th February 2025.
Salary
£22k - £25k

The Role
- You will prepare hot and cold drinks, fresh paninis and snacks
- Ensure cutlery, plates and cups are clean and ready for use
- Work the till, ensuring that all foods purchased are correctly entered into the tills
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, washing up and keeping the service counter, kitchen and equipment clean - creating a kitchen you can be proud of
- Provide regular stock takes to main kitchen and assist with ordering as needed
- To work as part of the school catering team with the main responsibility of the sixth form cafe
- You may be required to assist with the main school lunch service and at school events on occasion
- You will be expected to comply with Food Handling & Hygiene standards and Health & Safety regulations.
About You
- Experience as Barista is a plus but not essential, we are always happy to train the right person
- Catering or food service experience is desirable
- A friendly and positive attitude
- Present yourself in a professional, well-groomed manner
- Demonstrate an ability to work quickly but efficiently and keep calm, under pressure
- Be an excellent team player as well as being comfortable working on your own
- Demonstrate exceptional timekeeping and reliability
- Have a committed and organised approach
- Have the ability to follow instructions
- You will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
